We are looking for Lab Support Coordinator to provide a coordination service to research groups as part of the on-site Scientific Services Team and deliver time back to the customer by enabling smooth facilitation and effective function of their working environments, assisting the Scientific Services site lead in the provision of the LSC service.
Key Responsibilities:
Being the first point of contact reception service for the labs
Providing proactive laboratory and corridor checks, acting and reporting on findings
Raising and monitoring tickets to enhance the science in their areas
Providing continuous improvement initiatives through 5S/Lean6 methodology
Conducting customer led lab safety checks
Participating in customer led audits and inspections and providing administrative support
Build relationships with customers, colleagues and service partners to provide a collaborative approach to the operational management of the lab space.
Meet regularly with key stakeholders (lab staff, service partners, management) to identify, review and resolve issues in a timely manner and/or escalate as necessary.
To provide timely communication to lab users on impact of any site service work.
Escalate new service request from the customer through the appropriate reporting lines.
Covering duties carried out by colleagues in a variety of lab tasks such as transporting engineers to and from the laboratory in which they are working, sub-dispensing of raw materials for batches, glasswash/autoclaving, ambient air sampling, hooking up compressed lab gases.
Covering and assisting Haleon Shopper colleague – duties include catalogue purchasing, raising POs, investigating queries related to POs and vendors.
To attend training sessions appertaining to the post and ensure this training is documented.

A good standard of education. GCSE grade A to C or equivalent in Maths and English.
Driving license desirable but not essential.
Physical Demands:
Sit or stand 2-3 hours in laboratory areas.
Walk 2-3 hours within a facility.
Reach above/below the shoulder, bend at the knees and waist.
Lift up to 25 lbs.
Office work activities, including keyboard, with fingers/hands/arms up to 4 hours.
Work around moving laboratory equipment and machinery.
Use of personal protective equipment in laboratory.
Work with biohazards such as blood borne pathogens.
