PerkinElmer is seeking a European DC Buyer

Responsible for the procurement of products going Direct to Customer (eg laboratory consumables, spare parts and tools. Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotations, examines bids and makes awards. Develops sources and evaluates vendor reliability. Works closely with manufacturing sites to ensure that products arrive in a timely manner to fulfil customer requirements.

Key Accountability:

  • Work closely with Production Planner on-demand requirement
  • Release purchase orders per system generated purchase requisitions and ensure all purchase orders are delivered on time
  • Proactively monitor material delivery according to SIOP plan to ensure no material shortage impact to production
  • Attend daily production meeting to communicate material issues and advise action items
  • Perform weekly inventory monitoring to ensure all raw material inventory targets are achieved.
  • Supplier performance tracking and management.
  • LRS contract negotiation - To drive increase LRS spend commodity by commodity
  • Review E&O and manage LTB activities to minimize obsolescence risk
  • Streamline processes and drive continuous improvement in performance and customer/employee satisfaction
  • Lead in special projects and key initiatives identified from time to time

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a dynamic and fast-paced MNC manufacturing environment
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to execute assigned tasks swiftly, efficiently, and qualitative
  • Experience in SAP preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently and proactively is critical for success
